    Sandy Point Benevolent Society Hosts Successful 13th Annual Awards Gala in New York

    Bronx, NY – September 1, 2025. The Sandy Point Benevolent Society (SPBS) successfully hosted its 13th Annual Awards Gala on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Maestro’s Banquet Hall in the Bronx, New York. Held under the Distinguished Patronage of Pastor Judith Esdaille and Elder Moulton Esdaille, the event gathered nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Caribbean diaspora, and friends for a memorable evening of celebration and purpose.

    Guided by the theme “Imagine the possibilities when we give back so others can move forward,” the gala featured uplifting performances, inspiring reflections, and fundraising in support of SPBS scholarships and community projects.

    Her Excellency Dr. Mutryce Williams, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, delivered the keynote address, encouraging continued investment in youth and community empowerment.

    SPBS honored five distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions:

    • Troy “Bif” Mills – Sports Enthusiast & Alumnus
    • Dr. Almesha Richardson-Campbell – Education Researcher
    • Leroy Powell – Businessman & Philanthropist
    • Gracemae Richardson-Carty – Community Activist & Philanthropist
    • Abena Amory – Entertainer & Cultural Advocate

    Entertainment highlights included the Breakaway Brass Band, Ms. Naomela “Nikkie” Farrier, King Hollywood, dynamic dancers Kellie and Aleah. The evening was expertly guided by MC Troy Southwell.

    SPBS expresses gratitude to its patrons, sponsors, performers, and guests for ensuring the gala’s success. Proceeds will support scholarships, mentorship programs, and community development projects that uplift youth and families in Sandy Point and across St. Kitts and Nevis.

    Special thanks to Island Purified Water and Mr. Leroy Powell, one of our honorees, Jackson State University and Dr. Almesha Richardson-Campbell, another one of our honorees, Tango and Island Auto Services, Mr. X’s Shiggidy Shack, Dr Spencey Amory, Dr. Mark Hodge and St. Kitts, Nevis and Anguilla National Bank, who all helped to make the Gala the success it was.

    All in all, the Gala was a huge success, and a GREAT time was had by ALL.
